The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal arranged a remarkable display of digital art featuring traditional arts from Korea in honor of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The K-Culture Digital Art Exhibition opened on Friday, September 27, 2024, and will run through October 1, 2024, at the Nepal Art Council's third floor Babar Mahal in Kathmandu. The exhibition showcases the cultural commonalities among Buddhism, family values, elder respect, harmony with the environment, and a strong sense of community in Korea.

Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey launched the program in front of dignitaries from the media, high ranking government officials, senior officials from diplomatic missions, and the South Korean ambassador to Nepal, among others.

Minister Pandey stated that it took courage and vision for Nepal to establish diplomatic ties with Korea in 1974, and that Nepal is still dedicated to a positive and stable relationship with the Republic of Korea that is driven by respect for one another's interests and in line with their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

In addition, Minister Pandey mentioned the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and Nepal, saying, "The Republic of Korea is a world of greater opportunity and prosperity in recognition of the Republic of Korea 50 years ago and now.” He went on to say that the two countries' wonderful relationship was unmatched by any other.

Ambassador Park Taeyoung stated that he anticipates Korea will carry on with its prior development partnership initiatives and collaborate with Nepal to develop a number of sectors. Additionally, he stated that in honor of the 50th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Korea, South Korea is eager to make additional investments in the country.

Ambassador Park added that both Nepal and Korea are proud of their cultural traditions, which include reverence for elders, a strong sense of ethics, family-centered values, and a profound respect for Buddhism. The topics of this show, which spans centuries of artistic expression and captures the spirit of the traditions we hold dear, beautifully depict these cultural connections between the two nations.

The attractions of this exhibition are Endless Mountains and Rivers: A Rich World Unfolds in the Natural World, a Royal Procession with Humans, and the Soul's Journey: Traversing the Eternal Cycle of Birth, Death, and Rebirth. The bright video clips that are displayed on the enormous panoramic screen highlight the splendor and depth of South Korean culture.

The Embassy added that as we look forward to a future full of respect, understanding, and kindness in the strong cultural experiences, Celebrating Friendship was another activity as part of the event honoring 50 years of friendship and collaboration between our two nations.
